Elemental Chlorine Free - The raw material is bleached using a chlorine compound, not raw chlorine. This is the most common method, it is proven to be very safe and clean. Long Life - Papers made to this standard meet the archival 200 year requirement CIE Whiteness - The figure shown gives a recognized measurement of the paper’s whiteness. The higher the figure, the whiter the paper. Opacity - This is a laboratory measurement that gives an indication of how much show-through there is. The higher the %, the less show-through. Thickness (microns) - Also known as caliper, this gives us the average thickness of a sheet. Historically, an 80 gsm sheet was 100 microns thick. However, due to manufacturing developments some 80 gsm sheets are now up to 110 microns thick. Sustainable Forest Source - These products are made from managed forest resources with ongoing replanting programmes. Plantation Source - These products are made from fibre sourced from farmed tree plantations. A typical cycle from seedling to harvest for eucalyptus and acacia trees is seven years. Colorlok™ is a new technology developed by leading machine manufacturers and paper makers for use on inkjet and laser copiers. Papers made to this standard will produce a darker text, more vibrant colours and faster drying times when used on inkjet printers. The Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Scheme: this indicates that the fibres are obtained from sustainable, managed, certificated forests. Recycled - This product has been made using reclaimed fibre - the percentage shown indicates the proportion of reclaimed fibre the sheets contain.
